Main podcast points...

Emma believes that misinformation is a much bigger issue than the public realise. She says "we hear "fake news" but it's alot more than that, it's a spreading of ill information and something we really need to combat together."

Emma spoke with Marianna Spring, the Misinformation Specialist at the BBC. Marianna said that issue isn't very well known. This shows that the average member of the public will not know if they are receiving accurate information if even the journalists writing the pieces are not receiving accurate information and "doing the research".

Emma's best advice for people who may encounter misinformation is to simply as aforementioned "do the research" if someone tells you something do not believe it. Go off and look at a second source and make sure the sources are reliable.
